UCS MP Visit

On Friday, 16th December, we had a visit today from our local MP, Yasmin Qureshi. Yasmin had an audience with our own school council gave them some fantastic advice and information on what her role is as a local councillor and how she supports with the issues faced by our community, both on a local level and international level.

Our students asked some really important questions, which Yasmin is going to take away and consider. For example, why will some Universities not accept international arrivals who pass their A level examination but do not hold GCSE grades?

Jennifer asked Yasmin about the education system in the UK and discussions focused on supporting students to succeed. Our council were able to give details of some of the fantastic things they have put in place to help the students in our school, such as our breakfast club.
